Toni and Fane Saumarez (Iris Lunan and Sidney Wood) are slum children who are adopted by their wealthy uncle, Sir Charles Saumarez (Arthur Cullen) and his wife, Lady Henrietta (Dora deWinton). Toni (played as an adult by Evelyn Boucher) grows up to be a sweet-natured young woman, while Fane (played as an adult by Fred A. Thatcher) takes after the haughty Lady Henrietta and becomes a snob. After Toni is expelled from a finishing school, Lady Henrietta threatens to send her away to a horrible Dutch school. Lady Henrietta's brother, Lord Robert Wycke (Reginald Fox) sympathizes with Toni, but has to go away on business. Toni follows after him and winds up staying with the housekeeper of Count deSaulnes. She hears that Robert has been murdered, but he shows up very much alive and, since his adventuress wife has been killed in a car accident, he is free to marry Toni. This veddy British picture was obviously made in England.
