This weekly reality series was typical of the sort of fare promoted by cable's Playboy Channel. On each episode, a couple allowed themselves to be hypnotized by hypnotherapist Tom Silver, whereupon they were encouraged to reveal their innermost sexual fantasies. Those fantasies were then acted out by professionals -- in slow motion. At the end of this session, host Lauren Hays interviewed the couples for their reactions to seeing their subconscious desires brought to life. The Extreme Truth debuted August 10, 2003.
