Synopsis by Mark Deming
One of the most popular (and best-respected) acts on the current country music scene, the Dixie Chicks have made a name for themselves by blending the sweet sound of traditional country with the spirit and drive of contemporary pop, while also shattering long-held stereotypes about women as instrumentalists. An Evening With the Dixie Chicks features the group performing 16 songs (including all the tracks from their 2002 release Home) culled from a pair of concerts taped at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Selections include "A Home," "Landslide," "White Trash Wedding," "Wide Open Spaces," "Goodbye Earl," and "Sin Wagon."
