Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The Canadian documentary series The Disordered Mind first aired from April 20 to May 11, 1960, as a component of the CBC's weekly Explorations anthology. In clear, matter-of-fact tones, the series discussed a variety of mental disorders, using actual-case histories and interviews to verify the facts at hand. Topics ran the gamut from psychosomatic illnesses to sociopaths, from depression to paranoid schizophrenia. During its second go-around as an Explorations component from February 20 to March 20, 1963, the series zeroed in on children's psychological problems. From September 11 to October 2, 1966, The Disordered Mind was seen as a separate weekly series. All of the program's various incarnations were assembled by Robert Anderson Associates.
