Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

The reincarnation of Cleopatra continues to spin seductive webs in order to ensnare the unwary men who are willing to provide her with the wealth and power she craves in this offbeat WWI tale of espionage, drama and love-gone-wrong. The woman is British and named Cleo, the wife of a naively devoted military officer who has no idea what she does to get the fine things that surround her. When WW I erupts, he sends her to his relatives and then goes to France. With little hesitation, the spidery Cleo is sleeping with the young master of the house. Soon, he too heads off to fight, but just before he goes, Cleo hands him a torrid love letter and the good-luck charm her husband gave her. Once again, Cleo wastes no time in finding a new lover. This time, she chooses a handsome art dealer who is actually a Nazi spy, more adept at manipulating others than she. At his request, Cleo moves into the London flat he rented for her. One day her husband sends her a letter containing sensitive information. The art dealer gets it first and radios the letter's contents to Berlin. Meanwhile, back on the front, Cleo's first lover is killed and it is her husband who goes through his personal effects and finds the letter, which is exactly the same one she wrote to him. Things don't get any better for Cleo, when her new lover implicates he as a spy. When the British authorities find out, they send for the husband who returns to London, begins working with Scotland yard and from there bursts into the spy's flat just as he and Cleo are in a passionate clinch. The spy is arrested, but Cleo is left to face her angered spouse. Tragedy ensues.
