Synopsis by John Bush
Adapted from a play by Arthur and Sigfried Fischer, the story concerns several smugglers who swindle the inhabitants of a rural village for all they're worth. The citizens then unite to get their money back. Ingrid Bergman makes her film debut playing a maid.
