Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Reportedly the first Lebanese film ever to gain an American release, Broken Wings is based on an autobiographical work by poet/philosopher Kahlil Gibran. Pierre Bordey plays Gibran, who falls in love with a wealthy young woman. To prove his ardor, he spouts endless reams of verse (which sounds awfully stilted in the English-language version of this film). Alas, the girl is destined for a passionless marriage to a wealthy man of her parents' choosing.
