Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Filmmaker Phil Grabsky follows precocious, eight year old Afghani cave dweller Mir Hussein through summer, winter, and spring, allowing viewers a glimpse of post-Taliban Afghanistan as seen from the perspective of an innocent who knows nothing of the conflicts that have devastated his homeland. Meanwhile, Mir's resilient mother and father hold out hope that his son will get the education he needs to escape the grueling cycle of poverty and death, and their friends, neighbors, and extended family speak of the suffering they have endured throughout the decades as well as the dreams they have for the future.
