Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Sheltered in the confines of a monastery throughout his youth, "the kid" (Wu Yuan Chun) needs to advance his martial arts technique, called "Crazy Lo Han Fist." In order to do so, he must leave the temple -- and that is when his technique begins to get all the practice it needs. Beset by gangsters, he moves from one fight to the next, still finding time to fall in love, marry, and face more tragedy yet. Giving up on life outside, he realizes the temple was better all along -- much more peaceful than his sojourn outside, but then, so is any average neighborhood. Death and destruction continue to rule the day in this trademark kung-fu action thriller from the Shaw Brothers.
