Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
In this slow-paced slice from the life of a Latvian family's life, a father and his brood move to a nature reserve to escape the harsh realities of living in Riga. Nothing much happens there and the film depicts their dull routine in explicit detail, making the film something like visual Novocain. A minor conflict comes when the elderly man who actually owns the house in which they live, returns from Canada, where he has lived for several decades, to seemingly reclaim his property. Fortunately, that is not his intention.
