Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Noted character actor Kent Cheng reprises his role as a mentally challenged Hong Kong citizen which won him a Best Actor's prize in the Hong Kong Film Awards for his 1985 effort Why Me? Though Fat Cat (Cheng) is usually a quiet and affable sort, until he snaps after getting bullied by a gang of thugs. After getting shot by the cops, Fat Cat is thrown into an asylum, becoming the charge of social worker Bibi (Maggie Cheung). Three years later, Fat Cat and Bibi venture out into the city where Bibi immediately gets struck by a car. The ambulance hauls her off to the hospital, leaving Fat Cat to fend for himself on the streets. He wanders onto a ferry and ends up on a remote outlying island. There he gets taken in by Ng (Wu Ma), a gruff fisherman who at first wants to get rid of him but eventually warms to the lad. Of course, Bibi -- who made a full recovery -- soon tracks her charge down and in spite of her own misgivings feels duty-bound to return him to the hospital.
