Synopsis by Sally Barber

Television journalist Barbara Walters made broadcasting history in 2000 by becoming the highest-paid news host when she renewed her contract with NBC and committed to continue producing The Barbara Walters Special television series, the most popular prime-time interview program ever aired. Walters has the distinction of having interviewed every U.S. president since Richard Nixon. Her other memorable interviews range from political leaders, including Fidel Castro, to celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Sophia Loren, Richard Pryor, and Princess Diana. In this video, Walters shares what it is like to be in her privileged shoes. She reveals her impressions of the famous figures she has met and offers anecdotes about what went on before and after filming. From the journalist's confrontation with the Shah of Iran to her visit to Stevie Wonder's studio, Walters tells all.
