Synopsis by Hal Erickson
One doesn't often get the chance to see an Armenian-language film, so you might want to give Tears of Happiness a try. Produced in America but aimed at Armenian-speaking audiences, the film is constructed around the talents of singing star Manuel. The plotline purports to be Manuel's life story, complete with a tearful reunion with his neglected family. Production values are shabby, but the songs are nice. Director Sarky Mouradian also doubled as screenwriter.
