Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This film resurfaced more than a decade after the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1964-65). It tells the story of a girl who believes that her father is dead. She has been brought up by a friendly neighboring family, but she later discovers that her father is still alive when he comes to her adoptive father to settle some business between them. He, too, is surprised. He very nearly finds himself giving up everything for his daughter at this point, until circumstances change.
