Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This episode of Survivor: Marquesas offers a review of the first 24 days on the South Pacific island of Nuku Hiva. Admittedly, the Maramuu tribe got off to a terrible start by losing five of its six immunity challenges, not to mention several of its members. Since that time, the Maramuu and Rotu tribes have merged into the Soliantu, an event marked by the introduction of a controversial new game rule whereby those players receiving immunity have the choice to either keep it or give it away to someone else. All these events are recapped herein, complemented by outtakes and deleted scenes narrated by series host Jeff Probst. Executives at CBS had reason to celebrate when this episode originally aired in April of 2002; after its lukewarm third season, Survivor had made an Olympic leap back to the top of the ratings.
