Each episode of Sharks of Steel takes viewers inside the world of the submarine and the submariners who serve aboard them. Used as weapons for over a hundred years, it was during the world wars that submarines first scratched the surface of their potential, acting mainly as commerce raiders. Later, when nuclear weaponry came of age, submarines became an integral part of this force. This episode profiles the men who serve aboard the submarines. Attention is given to their training and to the pressures they face in the course of doing their jobs.
