Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The title tells all in Stripper. This purported docudrama of life on the girlie-show circuit aims directly below the navel in pursuit of a "core" audience. Real life strippers Janette Boyd, Sara Costa, Kimberly Holcomb et. al. attractively go through the motions of their day-to-day professional existence, spouting obviously pre-scripted ad-libs. The climax is a Las Vegas strip-tease contest, an entertaining if uninspired set piece that lasts nearly ten minutes. Stripper offers us a wisp of a storyline, but it never gets in the way of what its audience has paid to see.
