Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The lighthearted and fascinating British documentary Strange Trains begins with the premise that the United Kingdom has more eccentric and unusual models of passenger train than almost any country in Europe. This program provides a locomotive-by-locomotive tour of some of the more interesting models - from the 'Deep Mine Railway,' located at Llechwed, to the Vale of Rheidol tank engine, to the Double Fairlies on the Ffestiniog Railway, Strange Trains revels in eccentric and highly unique design. It focuses almost exclusively on models currently in operation.
