Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Alcoholic Captain Morgan (J.P. McGowan) promises his girlfriend, Mary Weems (Helen Holmes), not to touch the devil hop while steering a cruise ship through dangerous waters in this plodding silent melodrama written by character actor Arthur Donaldson. The good captain cannot live up to his promises of sobriety and soon finds himself a castaway on a South American coast. He is rescued, years later, by George Tracy (Leslie Casey), Weems' new beau. George decides to make a man out of his former arrival, and Captain Morgan, sober and with a newfound humility, readily accepts a future without Mary. McGowan, who also directed, and Holmes were husband-and-wife. Extremely low-budget, Stormy Seas was a Continental Picture release.
