Synopsis by Mark Deming

Stevie Ray Vaughan was just another blues guitarist from Texas when he and his band managed to score a booking at the prestigious Montreaux Jazz and Blues Festival in 1982; Vaughan's fiery set made him one of the most talked-about acts at the festival and helped launch his international reputation as one of the great showmen in blues. Stevie Ray Vaughan: Live at Montreaux 1982 and 1985 features rare footage from Vaughan's history-making 1982 gig, as well as his return engagement in 1985 after he'd become a major success. Songs include "Pride and Joy," "Love Struck Baby," "Texas Flood," "Couldn't Stand the Weather," and many more.
