Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Incredible as it may seem, "International Crysis" is a person's name. To be specific, it is the nomme de drag of an outrageous partial transsexual who was born in 1951 and died in 1990 of cancer brought on from breast implant seepage. A near contemporary of such gender-bending Warhol celebrities as Holly Woodlawn and Candy Darling, she was a celebrated New York phenomenon and performer, making a particularly big splash at that city's annual "Wigstock" celebrations. This documentary features many clips from her public appearances, along with interviews with her and others on topics related to her lifestyle and role in the gay and lesbian community.
