Compelled by the argument that the animal population of planet Earth is as important as the human population, filmmaker Mark Devries sets out to expose the massive animal processing plants hidden like a dirty secret in the secluded countryside. The deeper Devries probes into this gruesome mystery, the more disturbed he becomes about man's inhumanity to the creatures on the lower rungs of the food chain.
