Synopsis by Hal Erickson

A weak and contrived ending marred this otherwise absorbing backstage melodrama. Olga Petrova stars as a highly desirable musical-comedy actress. Having made public her disdain for wealthy men, Petrova is nonetheless ardently pursued by a handsome young millionaire who, for her sake, poses as his own chauffeur. A romance blossoms, but Petrova cannot accept the handsome millionaire's marriage proposal; she has already promised to marry a powerful producer who has threatened to blacklist her from Broadway if she refuses to become his bride. Several months after the wedding, Petrova's brutish husband is confronted by her sweetheart. The two men struggle, and the producer is killed, whereupon the dumbstruck boyfriend commits suicide by driving his expensive limousine into the sea. At this point, it is revealed that the events of the last few reels were merely part of a bad dream experienced by Petrova on the eve of her wedding.
