Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This sequel to the wildly non sequitur British sketch series A Show Called Fred was every bit as wacky as the original. This was because the same people were responsible for the overall nuttiness: writer Spike Milligan, producer-director Richard Lester (later responsible for the Beatles vehicles A Hard Day's Night and Help!, and star Peter Sellers. This time around, there were more filmed segments, allowing the participants to indulge in zany comic whims that would have been difficult if not impossible in an exclusively "live" TV situation. The eight half-hour installments of Son of Fred were broadcast by Associated-Rediffusion from September 17 to November 5, 1956.
