Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Leo Popper (Karel Hermanek) is a successful traveling vacuum-cleaner salesman who provides for his wife and three children. The first part of the film deals with the comic circumstances encountered by Leo, an avid fisherman with an eye on his boss' pretty wife. When the Nazis invade, Leo quickly learns his sons will be sent to a concentration camp. The nature-loving Leo is forced to kill the deer he considers sacred in order to provide for his family as they join the many Jews who now find themselves the target of inhumane and sadistic persecution.
