Each uses re-enactments, expert commentary, and readings by actors such as Burt Reynolds, Charlton Heston, and Richard Dreyfuss, to bring the events of the war to vivid life. Smithsonian's Great Battles of the Civil War, Vol. 2 focuses on the Shenandoah Valley Campaign, the Second Manassas, the Peninsula Campaign, and the series of battles fought for the city of New Orleans.
