Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The first Arab-language talking picture, Siroco was produced by a French firm and released worldwide with French subtitles. A young Arabian lad falls in love with a girl of noble lineage but is prevented from marrying her by her parents. To prove his worth, he subjects himself to all sorts of dangers in the desert, including a deadly sandstorm. All turns out well when the hero is revealed to be the long-lost son of a powerful Sultan. The cast of Siroco was comprised of amateurs, hired more for their physical suitability to their roles than for any innate acting ability.
