In this romantic drama, a clever professor will do anything to prove to a handsome fellow that his distant relative who signed the Declaration of Independence was a female. In order to prove her claim, the academic dons a disguise and poses as Violet, a notorious sneak-thief. Unfortunately, as she attempts to steal the needed evidence, she is caught red-handed. Things get even more sticky when the fellow she is trying to prove this to falls in love with the enigmatic Violet.
