Synopsis by Nathan Southern

With its current line-up of lead vocalist Mick Hucknall, keyboardist Fritz McIntyre, guitarist Heitor T.P., saxophonist Ian Kirkham, and backup vocalist Dee Johnson, Simply Red, the Brit soul-pop phenom of the late eighties, began a comeback during the nineties. Their rebound has extended to the present day, with the creation of the simplyred.com recording label and the release of two acclaimed albums of new material: 2001's It's Only Love and 2005's Simplified. Augmenting this second wind is Simply Red: Cuba!, a new concert film performed and shot live at the Gran Teatro in Havana - wherein the band performs nineteen of its greatest hits. Tracks include "For Your Babies," "Smile," "Something Got Me Started," "Fairground," "More," "Love Fire," "It's Only Love" and "Holding Back the Years." The disc is capped off by Simply Red's famous cover of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes.
