Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Taking a look at the lives of four homosexuals living in Toronto, this documentary seems to stay within the stereotypes of the gay world, rather than breaking new ground and truly educating the viewer. Interviews with the four men and their parents provide some information, as do the images of night life, but again, these tend to reinforce stereotypes rather than saying anything new. In 1981 when this documentary was first shown in San Francisco, AIDS was still a few years away from making major headlines with the death of Rock Hudson. Its absence from a documentary of this type dates the material as much as the cliched views presented by the director John Kastner and his co-writer (and mother) Rose Kastner.
