Synopsis by Tracie Cooper
Filmmaker Tristan Loraine profiles the origins and career of the "Shady Lady", a B-24 bomber aircraft that took off from Darwin, Australia on Friday the 13th, 1943 on what was then the world's longest ever attempted bombing mission. Despite surviving tropical thunderstorms, antiaircraft fire, and the best efforts of Japanese Zero fighters, the bomber ultimately crash-landed in Northern Australia, where a rescue effort was launched to have 'Shady Lady' repaired and flown again.
