The epic release Serge Gainsbourg: D'Autres Nouvelles d'Etoiles caters to hardcore fans of French chanteur Gainsbourg by compiling nearly five hours worth of performance footage of the artist in concert. The film's producers culled the footage from a myriad of sources, including archival concert clips, television appearances and movies; they also work in candid interviews with Gainsbourg filmed between 1965 and 1982; the long-unseen video for the controversial 1971 recording Histoire de Melody Nelson; duets with such artists as Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot and Anna Karina; a movie trailer for the 1986 Gainsbourg-directed feature Charlotte Forever, and much, much more - all presented chronologically, by decade and year, and fully digitally remastered.
