Frank Mills narrates this Canadian documentary about the month World War II "officially" started. On Sept. 1, 1939, German troops invaded Poland from the west and Russian forces invaded from the east, in accordance with a secret plan between Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. Great Britain and France sided with Poland, Italy and Japan sided with Germany, and World War II was on.
