When Father Kim is assigned to a church in the remote village of Boriwool, he utilizes his love of soccer to bring the people together. Making the acquaintance of young Hyung-Woo soon after arriving in the village, Father Kim is sympathetic when he learns that the boy's father had abandoned the family six years earlier to become a Buddhist priest. Although Father Kim's adjustment to his new surroundings is slow going at first, he is prompted to get more involved when Hyung-Woo's father returns and organizes a soccer teams for the village youths. Vowing to train the children of his congregation equally well, a competition soon heats up in which the village team and the church team will go head to head in a heated competition.
