Synopsis by Mark Deming

Kung fu heroes battle electronic villains in this blend of martial arts action and sci-fi fantasy. Jack Tanaka (Don "The Dragon" Wilson) is a martial arts instructor whose teenage son, Brad (Dan Mayid), is going through a rebellious phase and isn't getting along with his parents. But Brad does enjoy hanging out with his grandfather, James (Aki Aleong), a veteran computer programmer who is experimenting with cutting-edge virtual reality technology. James has persuaded Brad to try out his latest project, a virtual reality fighting game called "Sci-Fighter," when a power surge causes Brad to be drawn into the machine, where he becomes trapped in the game's frightening alternate world. With only the character of White Dragon (Cynthia Rothrock) willing to help him, Brad must fend for himself in the virtual world as Jack searches for a way to make his way into the game and rescue his son. Produced under the title Sci-Fighter, X-Treme Fighter also features Lorenzo Lamas.
