Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Set in the 1930s, Prof. Kupfer (Werner Kreindl) is a new, straight-laced, authoritarian math teacher assigned the graduating class as his students, and embodying much of what the Nazis wanted in their teachers. Kurt Gerber (Gabriel Barylli) is the class leader, someone who is pressured to keep up good grades and peer approval, but who will not hestitate at unethical means to maintain his image. Both the professor and Gerber start out on a collision course that does nothing to lessen the professor's derogatory comments on individual behavior, or his penchant for handing out failing grades. The prospect of going through what will certainly be torturous oral finals with the professor starts to haunt Gerber, leaving him with a despair that seems to have no resolution.
