Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The 4-minute Scenes at Niagara lived up to its title admirably. Filmed on both the U.S. and the Canadian sides of Niagara, the film offered spectacular glimpses of the falls, "at close and long range," to quote the trade magazine Variety. Also seen was the mighty Whirlpool, likewise from a variety of angles. To pad out the reel, scenes of the St. Lawrence River and the Racine Rapids were included in the film. Evidently, Scenes at Niagara was color-tinted by hand, which must have truly thrilled the crowd back in 1907 (it is not recorded whether or not the falls were shown at night, bathed in colored lights).
