Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Martha Hickman (Adelaide Bronti) encourages her husband Ezra (Melvin Mayo) to pursue a political career, so they travel to Washington from their Kankakee, Illinois home. When the Ambassador from Vergania (Jay Morley) meets their pretty daughter, Amy (Violet MacMillian), he believes she would be a perfect addition to his ruler's harem. He convinces the Hickmans that Ezra should go work at Vergania's American Consulate, and the reluctant Amy goes, even though she is in love with Robert Brice (L.C. Shumway), a Navy lieutenant. The kingdom's ruler, Selim Bey (George Routh), does fall for Amy and he tries to win her, which angers his former favorite, Hanoum (Adda Gleason). When Hickman finally realizes what is up, he plans to leave Vergania with Amy, but they are captured and imprisoned. With the help of Hanoum and the U.S. Navy, Brice manages to save the Hickmans from the wicked Selim.
