Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Childhood sweethearts Santi and Veena are devoted to each other, although Santi is blind. Even though they wish to marry, Veena's parents are opposed, thinking a blind husband too much of a burden. Instead, she is made to marry an odious, mischievous man, the son of a neighbor. After many Buddhist devotions, Santi regains his sight but can no longer gain the hand of his loved one. Instead, he enters the life of a monk. This Thai film was less than successful in its homeland for two reasons: it has an "unhappy" ending, and the man who plays Santi as a monk is not the same one who plays him elsewhere in the film.
