Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Gyan Mukherjee follows up on his smash 1943 debut Kismet with this film noir crime thriller about a criminal son and a policeman dad. In spite of (or maybe because of) his father's example of the straight and narrow life living as a cop, Kunwar (Ashok Kumar) takes to gambling, drinking and consorting with a sundry of blackguards and thugs. Though his doe-eyed wife (Nalini Jaywant) manages to steer away from a life of sin, Kunwar's past soon catches up with him when his former partner-in-crime pays him an unwelcome visit. After a complex series of incidents, Kunwar manages to escape from jail to vengeance himself against the man who did him wrong. When the police show up, the cop on the beat is none other than Kunwar's dad (Nawab).
