Filmed in the suburbs of Philadelphia, this Lubin melodrama was supposed to be taking place in Scotland. Two men are in love with the gamekeeper's daughter. One is the gamekeeper's assistant, handsome and honest; the other is Sandy the Poacher, slimy and sneaky. While going about his business, Sandy makes a powerful enemy of a nasty old witch. Later on, Sandy and the assistant gamekeeper duke it out over the heroine's attention. A shot rings out, and the old gamekeeper is killed. The assistant is put on trial for murder, but at the last moment the old witch shows up to finger the actual culprit.
