Synopsis by Janiss Garza

A popular film theme during the 1910s and 1920s involved nouveau riche parents who wanted their children to marry into nobility. This idea was often spoofed in comedies of the day, and it certainly didn't get past the mid-1910s team of Plump (Oliver Hardy) and Runt (Billy Ruge). Mrs. Vandergrift (Edna Reynolds) is the misguided mother here, and Ray Godfrey plays her daughter. Mrs. Vandergrift wants the girl to marry a count (Bert Tracy), but in spite of mother's best efforts, Ray is in love with Plump (who knows why, but that's another story altogether). To win over Mrs. Vandergrift, Plump and his pal Runt dress up in fancy clothes and pose as members of society. Of course, their efforts to appear distinguished fail miserably and the count arrives on the scene to complicate matters. But in the end, Mrs. Vandergrift has changed her mind anyway, and she gives Plump and her daughter her blessings.
