After Isabel (Katherine Heigl) uses her powers to fix Maria's (Majandra Delfino) air conditioner, a nervous Maria compounds her car troubles by crashing into Sheriff Valenti's (William Sadler) car. Meanwhile, Ms. Topolski (Julie Benz), the school guidance counselor, begins interviewing students in hopes of discovering their vocational strengths. Liz (Shiri Appleby), who wants to be a molecular biologist, is the only one with a tangible goal; the others present Mrs. Topolski with quite a challenge. Max (Jason Behr) comes across as introverted and secretive, while Isabel (Katherine Heigl) sarcastically claims she wants to be a supermodel. Later, Max shyly approaches Liz, though he retreats back into his shell rather than letting her in on his true feelings.
