Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur

Independent filmmaker Peter Devin makes his feature debut with the documentary Rock & Roll Superhero. Shot over a period of three years, the film follows the life of rock star-hopeful Watt White. During the day, he sells athletic shoes; at night, he transforms into a costumed rock star superhero in search of stardom. Some of his alter egos include "Badger" and "Machine." He performs regularly with his trusty bass player Jay, occasionally known as "Necromancer." Problems arise when two Israeli musicians join the band. Rock & Roll Superhero was shown at the Anthology Film Archives as part of the New Filmmakers Fall Screening Series.
