Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Journeys with George director Alexandra Pelosi offers her fifth HBO documentary, an unguarded profile of conservative Americans who did not want Barack Obama to be their president, and who feel unrepresented by the mainstream media. Traveling through twenty-eight states with John McCain as he makes his bid for the oval office, Pelosi offers a snapshot of a country at war with itself. As the religious and cultural identities that define America become ever more complex, the so-called "silent majority" feel increasingly alienated over cultural and political issues, and refuse to trust Obama, Congress, and the media. Has the media truly neglected to give meaningful time to such hot-button issues as gun control, abortion, religion, and gay rights, and was the media really biased against McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin, or should these incensed conservatives gracefully admit defeat and offer Obama the same kind of support that they urged John Kerry supporters to provide to George W. Bush following the 2004 elections?
