Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Continuing his exploration of Greece, Rick Steves arrives at Santorini, one of the few ancient Greek islands to survive the volcanic eruption of 1500 B.C. After a few moments in the island's main town of Thira, Rick embarks upon an Aegean ferry ride to Samos, thence to a motorbike excursion through the towns of Paros and Pythagorio. A hydrofoil whisks us to the remote, barely explored island of Lipsi, where the average tourist can bask in the history and beauty of Greece at a reasonable cost. This 36th episode of Travels in Europe With Rick Steves concludes with yet another boat trip, this one bound for the Turkish coast.
