Synopsis by Janiss Garza

By 1922, even Mary Pickford was sick of sweet, naïve Pollyanna-type characters (Pickford, actually, always tended to add a bit of spice to her glad girls). So when Alice Calhoun was cast in this flimsy bit of treacle, critics had a hard time being kind. After the death of her father, Rainbow Halliday (Calhoun) is entrusted to the care of three old men, Shang Jordan (William Gross), Andy MacTavish (Charles Kent), and Denny Farrell (Tom O'Malley). The three men -- all loyal employees of the dead father -- raise Rainbow, who has inherited a valuable mine. George Standish (Jack Roach) travels from Chicago and tries to claim the mine himself, but in spite of this dispute, love blooms between him and the innocent Rainbow. A scheming uncle unsuccessfully tries to get his hands on the mine. Because of her inheritance, Rainbow is exposed to high society, but nothing corrupts her sunny nature. She merely gains a polish which makes her appropriate wife material for Standish.
