Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Chilean writer-director Oscar Cardenas's urban drama Rabia (AKA Anger, 2006), dissects the widespread South American plight of unemployment as filtered through the experience and perspective of a single character. Carola Carrasco is Camila Sepúlveda, a frustrated woman out of work for well over twelve months. Cardenas uses six "chapters" of the film and one-on-one interviews with the character to explore the significance of this plight for Camila and her innate reactions to the circumstances. Over the course of the film, Camila heads to one job interview after another and discovers that hers is not an isolated situation - in Chile and beyond, thousands of women are battling the same plight. Meanwhile, Sepúlveda's inner rage and frustration build to a boiling point and turn her into a very different woman, indeed.
