Brian (Gale Harold) wins an award for his ad work, and a fellow gay adman, Adam (Grant Nickalls), tells him he's too good for Pittsburgh. Adam's willing to put in a good word for Brian at his New York firm, which is hiring. Vic (Jack Wetherall) has a decision to make. He doesn't want to face the lying cop who arrested him in court, so he has to plead guilty, pay a fine, and register with the police as a sex offender. David's (Chris Potter) ex-wife is getting divorced, and his son is acting out, so David flies to Portland. Brian tells the gang about his plans to move to New York, but no one really believes he'll go. Ted (Scott Lowell) convinces Melanie (Michelle Clunie) to get Blake (Dean Armstrong) an interview to work at her law firm on a trial basis. Emmett (Peter Paige) tries to convince Vic to fight the charges against him, telling him, "You're letting them know they can keep getting away with it." Brian tells Justin (Randy Harrison) that when he leaves Pittsburgh, he won't look back. Ted gets Blake a new suit, and preps him for his interview. Vic changes his mind and pleads not guilty, and Melanie agrees to take his case in exchange for Debbie's (Sharon Gless) babysitting. Michael (Hal Sparks) tries to console a despondent Justin, telling him Brian won't really move. But when Justin tells Michael that Brian is selling his apartment, Michael realizes Brian is serious about leaving. David comes back from Portland, only to tell Michael he's going back right away. He's moving there, at least for a while, to be with his son, and he wants Michael to go with him. Ted makes an unhappy discovery about Blake, and Vic has his day in court.
