Isabella and Federico (Francesca D'Aloja and Alessandro Gassman) are at their wits' end, as far as their sex life is concerned. The married couple are in a rut and are determined to do something about it. The consult a sexologist (Vittorio Gassman, Alessandro's real-life father) who suggests they try having sex with another couple like themselves. They place an ad and meet a couple (Pino Quartullo and Lucrezia Lante Della Rovere) that is anything but -- as slick a pair of sexual predators as one is likely to find. However, they agree to spend a weekend together and have a lively time in the bedroom until one of them has an inexplicable rash. Accusations and recriminations fly, and then the two men and two women pair off for some nonsexual bonding, exploring religion and meditation (among other things). Anything but sex, in fact.
